Blarney Veterinary Clinic treats both companion animals and farm animals, and describes offering 24/7 emergency service. The clinic highlights in-house diagnostics (ultrasound, X‑ray, endoscopy, microscopy, haematology and biochemistry) alongside surgical care and medical management for long-term conditions such as diabetes, osteoarthritis, and cardiac and reproductive problems. Recent reviews repeatedly mention rapid help in urgent situations (including a call-back “within minutes” and an appointment “within the hour”), accommodation to reduce stress for an animal during neutering, and follow-up after testing (sending samples to a lab and checking in afterwards). End-of-life support is also specifically described by one reviewer who had two elderly pets euthanised within weeks and felt well-supported throughout.

Cathal O'Connor has the most wonderful way with his clients and their humans. I have been bringing my dogs ,cats, and hens to him for years now. I recently had to take the heartbreaking decision to send my 15 year old boy over the rainbrow bridge, and the support, attention, care, and understanding shown by Cathal was incredible,as always is.Two weeks after losing our boy, we lost our 15 year old cat, and again, the empathy and professionalism shown throughout her treatment had been second to none. Credit is also very much due to the wonderful nurses and wider vet team at Blarney Vets. I can not recommend them enough!

Huge thanks to all of the staff for their help. Needed to have a stray cat neutered and they couldn't have been more helpful. It took me a few days to catch him but they accomodated me as soon as I did which meant less stress for the cat (now called Bob). Delighted to have a lovely Vets practice to rely on in the future for the rest of our menagerie! Thank you! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Absolutely great clinic. Rang early and left a message on a bank Holiday Monday. The vet returned my call within minutes. Had an appointment within the hour and my shizu was treated promptly. And the care was excellent

I was delighted with the service I got at BVC, it was my first time at a Vet with a new Pup, but Dr Cathal made it all very easy. He was extremely thorough and knowledgeable, he sent of samples to a Lab to confirm nothing serious was wrong and checked in with us to see how the Pup was doing. I would be glad to recommend this Vet to anyone.
